Frosty Reached the Low Branch First and Took the Shiniest Ornament
The lowest branch of the tree has lost its best decoration. A big white Samoyed sits close by with a shiny red ball held in his mouth, a dark nose and thoughtful eyes standing out against the cloud of fur. His blue collar peeks out from the thick coat. Needles of the tree cross the corner of the picture, and the living room behind him holds a gray couch, a basket, and a pair of slippers on the floor.
Samoyeds come from Siberia, where they helped herd reindeer and pull sleds, and the thick white coat is part of their charm. They have a famously friendly face that looks like a smile, and many are social, playful, and talkative. That coat sheds heavily and needs regular brushing, so a good brush is a must in a Samoyed home. They are active dogs and prefer cooler weather, so give them shade and water in the heat.
Tree ornaments are a classic temptation for dogs of any size, so place breakable ones higher and consider a barrier around the base if your dog is a determined collector. We will call this fellow Frosty. He is holding the ball gently, and his eyes are full of confidence, as if he is helping with the decorating. He has found something shiny, and as far as he is concerned, that is a gift.
