Rexie Put On the Dinosaur Costume and Tried to Look Fierce
A tiny calico kitten in a soft green dinosaur costume sits on the sidewalk, her wide golden eyes peering out from under a hood with spikes and a stitched eye on top. More spikes run down her back and along a tail, and her white paws peek out from the bottom. Behind her are a beige house, a dark door, a few pumpkins by the steps, and fallen leaves scattered on the pavement.
Calico kittens have patches of white, orange, and black, and they are nearly always female because of how the coloring genes work. Many calicos are lively and curious, and they can be strong-willed, as this one might be. A kitten like this needs plenty of safe playtime, and gentle handling from an early age helps her grow into a friendly cat.
Dinosaur costumes are popular for a reason, with their hoods and spiky tails, but they can be warm and bulky for a tiny cat. Keep any costume session short, watch for panting or distress, and check that the hood doesn't block her vision or hearing. Sidewalks are also not a place for a kitten, since cars and dogs pass by, so she should be held or on a harness when she is outside. We will call this little dino Rexie. She looks sweet rather than fierce, a very small predator who is mostly interested in what is for dinner.
