Wisp Wore the Ghost Sheet and Haunted the Couch Very Politely
Under a white sheet with no sleeves and two neat eyeholes, a silver tabby kitten looks out at the world with round golden eyes. Her pointed ears tent the cloth, and her striped chest and paws peek out below the hem. She sits on a gray knit blanket on a couch, with a lamp and a small pumpkin nearby, a TV remote on the coffee table, and a plaid throw behind her. It is the most adorable ghost in the house.
Costumes made of loose fabric are a risk for cats, since a kitten can trip, get tangled, or become frightened. If you try a sheet ghost, make sure the eye holes are large and keep her under close watch for just a minute or two. Many kittens do not enjoy having anything on their heads, and that is perfectly normal. Offering a treat and quickly removing the sheet helps keep it a good experience.
American Shorthair kittens like this one have a classic silver tabby coat with bold swirls. They are known for being easygoing and good with families, and they often enjoy a game of chase. We will call this friendly ghost Wisp. She is sitting upright and calm, as if she has been practicing, and her wide stare through the eye holes is both funny and sweet. She is the gentlest haunting this evening, and the only thing she will steal is attention.
