A Cream Kitten Wears a Reindeer Sweater With Total Seriousness
The sweater is a little big, the face is a little grumpy, and the whole effect is delightful. A cream Exotic Shorthair kitten sits on a moss-green blanket wearing a cream knit sweater patterned with tiny brown reindeer. Her round, copper eyes look straight ahead with a faintly unimpressed expression. Behind her, a Christmas tree glows beside a plaid blanket, a plush bunny, a glass of water and a basket of blankets in the window light.
Dressing a cat is something many owners try around the holidays, but it needs some care. Many cats dislike clothing, so it is best to keep sessions short, watch for signs of stress like freezing, flattened ears or trying to hide, and remove the outfit right away if your cat seems unhappy. A sweater should never restrict movement, hearing or breathing, and a cat should not be left alone in clothes.
Exotic Shorthairs are known for their calm, sweet nature, which may be why this one tolerates the look so well. Their flat faces and thick coats mean they can be prone to overheating, so a warm sweater in a cozy living room is plenty. Your vet can advise on grooming and any facial care.
We will call her Dasher, though she does not look ready to run anywhere. She is happy to sit on the blanket, wear her reindeer pattern and let the tree do the sparkling. Some models just have a natural gift for serious expressions.
