The Corgi Put On His Reindeer Sweater and Could Not Stop Grinning
Ears wide, mouth slightly open and eyes bright, a sable Corgi named Pickle looks at us in a cream knit sweater with a brown reindeer on the front. His ears are enormous, his coat is a mix of black, tan and cream, and his tongue is just peeking out in a grin. Behind him, a Christmas tree sparkles, boxes sit stacked on the floor and a table holds a mug, glasses, craft supplies and a pinecone.
Corgis are smart, active herding dogs with big personalities, and many are happy to show off a sweater. A sweater is mostly a fashion choice for a dog with a thick coat, so make sure it fits comfortably, does not ride up or restrict walking and is removed if he gets warm. Check that no threads are loose. Corgis are low to the ground, so winter walks can leave their bellies wet, and they often love the attention a costume brings. They tend to gain weight easily and their long backs need protecting, so avoid high jumps and keep holiday treats small. Talk to your vet about an exercise and diet plan.
Pickle looks thoroughly pleased with himself and the whole world. The reindeer on his chest fits his joyful grin. If cheerfulness were measured in ears, he would be the happiest dog in the neighborhood.
