A Great Dane Puppy Met the Spider Web Decorations Head-On
The decorating crew did not plan for this. A blue Great Dane puppy lies on the living room floor draped in a tangle of white stretchy spider web, with little black plastic spiders scattered across the grey coat. Big, droopy ears hang on either side of a thoughtful face, and the puppy looks sideways as if wondering how all this happened. Behind the pup, a couch holds a heap of laundry, paper pumpkins and children's drawings decorate the wall, and a window lets in soft light.
Great Dane puppies are big and grow fast, with lots of clumsy enthusiasm. They are usually gentle and friendly, but their size means they need training from the start and plenty of supervision. Fake spider webbing is a risk for dogs, as the sticky fibers can wrap around legs and necks, and swallowed webbing or plastic spiders can cause a blockage that needs urgent veterinary care. Keep all webbing and small decorations out of reach, or skip them in pet areas. If your dog gets tangled, stay calm and gently free the strands, and call your vet if any has been eaten.
Let's call this young giant Moose. He lies quietly through the whole rescue, a patient, oversized baby in a very dramatic costume of cobwebs. The spiders are fake and the puppy is real sweet, and the room is going to need a good sweep afterward.
