A Cream Devon Rex Took the Elf Job, but She Had Opinions
Wide ears, wide eyes, and a green elf hat the size of a teacup: a cream Devon Rex sits on the sofa looking slightly skeptical about her new job. The matching green collar with red trim sits snugly around her neck, and she gazes off to the left with a serious frown. A lit Christmas tree glows behind her, a mug rests on a side table, and soft blankets pile up around the cushion where she sits. Her pale wavy coat looks like frosting in the lamplight.
Devon Rexes have been called pixie cats, thanks to their big ears, slim bodies, and mischievous expressions. They are busy and affectionate, and many enjoy being part of every family activity, costumes included. Even so, dress-up should always be gentle. Choose a hat that is light and secure, but not tight, avoid anything with small pieces that can be chewed off, and keep the session short. Watch her ears and tail: flattened ears or thrashing mean she has had enough. Offer a treat afterward. Thin-coated cats can also get chilly, so a warm blanket nearby is a good idea.
She will not smile about it, but she has certainly captured the spirit. Every workshop needs an elf with a strong opinion. The mug and the blankets nearby say the elf will be back to a nap soon enough.
