A Siamese Cat Stood Next to a Snowman and Matched His Calm
Snow covers the lawn, and a seal point Siamese sits in it with her dark paws sunk into the powder and her bright blue eyes pointed toward the camera. Beside her, a snowman with a carrot nose and a dark green scarf looms slightly taller. Their expressions are about equally patient. A gray house stands in the background with a wreath on an upstairs window, and a few bare branches and bushes dot the frosty yard around them.
Siamese cats are well known for their slim bodies, bright blue eyes, and talkative personalities, and many form strong bonds with their people. Their short coats offer less warmth than the thick fur of northern breeds, so snowy outings should be very short. The darker color on their points is linked to temperature-sensitive pigment, which is why those areas can look darker in cool conditions. Supervise any time outdoors, dry her off afterward, and wipe her paws to remove ice and salt. If you want to share the snow with a cat, a window view is a safe, warm alternative.
She and the snowman make a quiet pair, each in a scarf of sorts. If the snowman could chat, the Siamese would surely have plenty to say back. The afternoon feels bright and quiet, with only the soft crunch of snow to break the silence.
