A Ragdoll Followed the Frost Patterns on the Window Glass

AI imageragdollfrosty windowwreath

Ice has drawn feathery patterns across the glass, and a seal point Ragdoll sits on the window seat studying them with her dark ears pricked and her blue eyes narrowed. A green wreath hangs in the window, with a view of snowy houses beyond. Her long cream coat spreads over the cushion while her dark tail curls low around the ledge. A knit blanket lies next to her, a mug sits on the sill, and a basket and plant fill the corner. The whole corner of the room smells, one imagines, of tea and pine.

Ragdolls are large, gentle cats with silky coats and mild temperaments, and many are happy to follow their people from room to room. They are not usually big climbers, so a low, wide window seat suits them well. Window perches give indoor cats entertainment and fresh daylight, which is good for their routine, but glass can be cold in winter, so a cushion or blanket makes the perch comfortable. Bird feeders outside the window can also give a cat plenty to watch. Their soft coats need combing a few times a week to prevent mats, especially behind the ears and under the belly.

She watches the frost as if it were a slow movie, one that she has all winter to enjoy. Nothing in the room needs her attention, so she gives it all to the window.
