All That Wrapping Paper Made a Surprisingly Good Puppy Bed
Her cheek is pressed into a crinkled sheet of white paper, and a black-and-white Boston Terrier puppy sleeps soundly in a mess of holiday wrapping. Her white blaze runs down her nose and her tiny paws are tucked close. Behind her, a sofa with a knit blanket, a plant, and some toys can be seen in a sunny, cluttered room, and a pinecone sits near the edge of the scene.
Puppies nap many times a day, and a sleeping puppy is usually a growing puppy. A flop in the middle of the floor after a burst of play is perfectly normal. Boston Terriers are friendly, bouncy dogs with short noses, so they can snore and overheat more easily, and they should not be exercised hard in heat. Wrapping paper is great for rustling, but it is not a snack, and tape and ribbon can cause trouble if swallowed, so clean up after the unwrapping. If she chews more than a little, check with your vet.
This puppy has clearly done a full day's work. The paper seems to be her mattress and the room her bedroom. It is hard to say what is cuter, the tiny paws or the little squished face, but both are fast asleep in a nest of holiday color. The room is quiet, the paper rustles only when she breathes, and the afternoon drifts along without her.
