A Bulldog Puppy Waited at the Door With the Most Hopeful Face
Sitting right in the middle of the entryway, a fawn-and-white Bulldog puppy looks up with deep, wrinkled eyes and a hopeful expression. Her face is round, her ears fold back, and her little paws sit neatly together. Behind her, a dark green door holds a wreath with red plaid ribbon and pinecones, and boots, coats, and a bag line the wall and floor of a warm home.
Bulldog puppies are sturdy, sweet-natured, and a bit stubborn, and they often have a clownish side. Their wrinkles need regular cleaning and drying to avoid skin irritation, and their flat faces mean they can have trouble breathing in heat or after hard exercise. A short walk in cool weather is better than a long one. Because they can be slow to learn, patient, positive training helps a lot. Bulldogs also tend to gain weight, so ask your vet about portions and treats, particularly during the holidays.
She looks like she has been waiting a long time, even though it has probably only been a minute. Somebody is coming through that door, and she wants to be the first to say hello. With a face like that, the greeting will be well received, and the wait will be worth it. When the door finally opens, a rush of cold air and happy voices will bring that little stub of a tail to life.
