A Snow-White Kitten Found the Coziest Corner With Pumpkins and Logs
A fluffy white Persian kitten sits in the doorway of a cozy mudroom with her chin lifted. A tall stack of split firewood rises beside her, and small orange and green pumpkins gather at her feet. Inside, plaid blankets, boots, a basket, and a hat on a hook make the entrance look warm and lived-in, and the kitten's pale coat looks nearly glowing against the wood.
Persian kittens are known for their long coats and peaceful personalities, but they require daily brushing, since their fine hair can tangle. Firewood is a charming prop, but wood piles can hide spiders, mice, and splinters, and firewood and kindling are best kept out of a curious kitten's reach. Pumpkins are generally not poisonous to cats, but a large amount of raw pumpkin can upset a stomach, and rotting pumpkins grow mold. A short stay on a porch is fine, but keep her close, since her flat face and thick coat make her sensitive to temperature changes. When she comes inside, a quick brush gets rid of any leaves, dust, or bits of bark that stuck to her fur.
White coats show every speck of dirt, which is part of the fun and the work of owning a fluffy cat.
She looks calm, clean, and perfectly at home among the pumpkins, as if she is guarding the woodpile.
