The Chihuahua Puppy Had a Front-Row Seat to Christmas Morning

Chihuahuas are the smallest dog breed, and they often bond closely with their people, which is why you will so often find one watching the action from a lap or a cushion. Their size also means a noisy, busy morning can feel overwhelming, so a quiet place to retreat is a kind gift for any small dog. Wrapping paper, ribbon, and tape are fun to bat at but can cause problems if swallowed, so gather the scraps as you go. Also watch the floor for tiny parts, batteries, and bows, which are easy for a curious puppy to snatch while everyone is distracted. Chihuahuas get chilly easily, so a soft blanket nearby is always welcome.

Pepper just watches, ears slightly back, taking in every rip and rustle. Some of the best gifts are the ones you get to watch being opened.
