The Remote Has Teeth Marks. The Siamese Can't Stop Grinning.

Afternoon light pours across a soft beige couch, and stretched out on the cushion is a blue point Siamese with cool grey ears, pale cream fur, and an unmistakable grin. Right next to those neat grey paws lies the TV remote, its edges gnawed and buttons scuffed, with tiny bits of plastic sprinkled across the fabric. The cat's blue eyes are half turned away, and the open-mouthed expression looks a lot like a chuckle. Movie night may have to start with a little troubleshooting.

Siamese cats are famous for being talkative, clever, and deeply attached to their people. They often follow their humans around and want to be involved in everything, which may explain the fascination with the object their person holds every evening. Some cats chew on plastic, rubber, or cords out of boredom, teething, or simple curiosity. Chewing on electronics can be risky. Small broken pieces can be swallowed, and button batteries in particular are dangerous if a pet chews them open or swallows them. Keep remotes, chargers, and cords out of reach, and provide safe chew options or cat grass instead. If a cat seems determined to chew on unusual things, it is worth talking to your vet.

Maybe the cat was simply tired of the shows on offer and decided to change the channel permanently. Either way, the remote will need replacing, and the cat will expect a front-row seat on the couch when the new one arrives.
