A Bag of Chips Was Left in the Living Room. The Boston Terrier Is Looking Away.
Snack time has been rescheduled. A brindle and white Boston Terrier sits on the carpet in a dim living room, surrounded by golden potato chips scattered across the floor from a torn-open bag at its feet. A few chips are crushed into crumbs, and the bag still holds a small pile of survivors. The dog's head is turned firmly to the side, its dark eyes avoiding the camera and its bat-like ears tilted in a way that seems to say it would rather not discuss this. A couch with a blanket, a side table, and a pair of shoes linger in the shadowy background.
Boston Terriers are often called the American Gentleman thanks to their tuxedo-like markings and friendly, polite personalities. They are lively, affectionate, and usually great companions for families and apartment living. As a short-nosed breed, they can be sensitive to heat and overexertion, so moderate exercise in cool weather works best. As for chips, they are high in salt and fat and are not a good snack for dogs. A few stolen chips are unlikely to be an emergency, but a whole bag can upset a small dog's stomach. Some flavors also include onion or garlic powder, which are harmful to dogs.
Clearly, this little gentleman believes that looking away makes him invisible. It is a bold strategy, and the crumbs on his chin may tell a different story, but you have to admire the commitment.
