A Black Pomeranian Avoids Eye Contact While Standing in Spilled Milk
Four tiny paws stand in a wide puddle of milk, and a fluffy black Pomeranian is looking straight past you. His profile is sharp, his small ears are pricked, and his dark eyes slide to the side as if he is very interested in something on the far wall. White milk spreads across the wooden floor and swirls around his feet, leaving little ripples.
Behind him, a laundry basket overflows with clothes, a stuffed bunny and a few toys sit against the cabinet, and a dish rack stands on the counter. Sunlight slants across the floor. We'll call him Licorice. He is quite sure that he is not involved in whatever happened here.
Pomeranians are lively, fluffy little dogs with big personalities, and they often act as though they're much larger than they are. They are alert and curious, which means they tend to investigate spills and open cartons. A little milk usually isn't harmful, but many dogs are lactose intolerant, and cow's milk can cause gas, stomach upset, or diarrhea. Clean the puddle promptly so he doesn't slip or keep lapping it up. Pomeranians have a thick double coat that needs regular brushing, and they should not be shaved because the coat helps regulate temperature. If he seems unwell after drinking milk, call your vet. Give him fresh water in a sturdy bowl and keep cartons out of reach.
Licorice keeps staring into the distance, small and fluffy, a spotless defendant with a very milky floor.
