A Blue-Grey British Shorthair Freezes on a Rug Full of Soil
Soil is scattered across the white fluffy rug, and the blue-grey British Shorthair in the middle of it has huge orange eyes and a very still pose. A flowerpot lies on its side near the edge of the rug, and a few specks of dirt dot his paws and chest. The living room behind him, with a coffee table, a mug, and a basket of toys, looks cozy and calm, which only makes the mess more obvious.
British Shorthairs are sturdy, round-faced cats with dense, plush coats and a calm, easygoing nature. They are often described as loving but not clingy, and many are happy to sit beside you rather than on your lap. They are not usually as active as some other breeds, but they still enjoy play, and a pot of soil can be a very tempting dig site. Potting soil can contain fertilizer and other additives, so it is best to keep it out of reach, and call your vet if you think he ate some. Their short, dense coats are easy to care for with weekly brushing, and a lint roller can help with the rug.
He is the picture of stillness, and he has frozen in place like a statue. The rug will have to be vacuumed, but the cat's stare is enough to make anyone laugh. He is very calm about the whole thing.
