A White Norwegian Forest Cat Looks Up From the Chewed Remote
The TV remote lies on a grey blanket with its edges chewed, and the white Norwegian Forest Cat sitting beside it is looking up with wide blue-green eyes and fluffy ears perked. Her coat is a soft cloud of white, and her pink nose is slightly raised. The room behind her is cozy and cluttered, with towels, a basket, and a plant, and she looks as if she has no idea how the remote got so damaged.
Remotes are warm, they smell like people, and they have buttons that feel interesting to a cat's paws, so it is not surprising that some cats chew them. The batteries inside can be a real danger if a cat swallows them, so call your vet or an emergency clinic if you think yours has. Keeping remotes in a drawer or a basket helps, and so does giving your cat plenty of chew-safe toys. Norwegian Forest Cats are friendly, smart, and playful, and they are skilled climbers who enjoy exploring. A cat tree near the couch gives them a better place to perch, and a puzzle toy can keep them busy while you watch your favorite show.
She sits so calmly beside the evidence that it is hard not to smile. The remote will need a new cover, and perhaps a new battery. She will gladly supervise the repairs.
