A Blue-Grey British Shorthair Marches Off With a Whole Hot Dog Bun
A whole hot dog bun is clamped in the mouth of a blue-grey British Shorthair, whose round face and orange eyes are fixed on the viewer with a guilty look. His plush coat is silvery blue and a few crumbs dot his chin. The sunny kitchen behind him has a window with plants, a glass of water, and cloths on the counter, and he seems to be waiting for someone to say something.
British Shorthairs are known for being calm, sturdy, and affectionate, and they are often good-natured about being picked up and fussed over. They also tend to love food, and many are prone to gaining weight, so measured meals and regular play are important for keeping them healthy. A bit of plain bread is not usually harmful to a cat, but it has little to offer, and some buns contain onion, garlic, or raisins that are unsafe. If your cat eats something you are unsure about, call your vet. Keeping food on high shelves or in cupboards can stop counter-surfing, and a cat tree gives him a better place to sit and watch the kitchen.
He seems to feel that the bun was meant for him, and he has the confidence to prove it. He is not at all sorry, and the bun is already half gone.
