A Black Cat Claims a Whole Sheet of Unrolled Wrapping Paper

AI imageblack catwrapping paperplayful

A large sheet of cream wrapping paper has been unrolled across the wooden floor, and the black cat is sitting right in the middle with her yellow eyes wide open. The paper is crumpled around her paws and lifts at the edges, and she looks as though she was about to make a very important announcement. In the background a laundry basket, a plant, and a pair of slippers show a house in the middle of a busy season.

Wrapping paper is one of the best cat toys around, as it crinkles, slides, and makes a perfect hiding place. Cats love to pounce on moving paper and tunnel under it. When the holidays arrive, it is wise to keep ribbons, tape, and tinsel out of reach, since swallowing them can cause a serious blockage, and to call your vet if you think she has swallowed any. A few sheets of plain paper or a paper bag can be a safe gift for her. Black cats are known for their sleek looks and, according to many owners, very big personalities. They can be playful, loving, and curious, and they are great company.

She looks as though she has claimed the whole paper for herself. It will be a bit rumpled when it is time to wrap the presents, but that is just part of the fun. She will probably expect a present of her own.
