A Cream Goldendoodle Looks Up From a Heap of Shredded Newspaper
A mountain of shredded newspaper lies on the carpet, and the cream Goldendoodle in front of it has soft, curly fur and a hopeful upward gaze. His floppy ears hang down, and a few strips of paper have stuck to his coat. The grey carpet behind him is dotted with paper bits, and the sunlight shows how thorough the job was.
Goldendoodles are a mix of Golden Retriever and Poodle, and they are generally friendly, bright, and affectionate. They are often energetic and love to be included in family activities, so they can get bored without enough to do. Shredding paper is a popular form of play, and it is usually harmless in small amounts, though swallowing a lot of paper can upset his stomach, so talk to your vet if you are concerned. Their curly coats need regular brushing to prevent matting, and paper bits that stick to the coat are easy to brush out. A daily walk and some puzzle toys can give a Goldendoodle a more satisfying way to use his energy.
He looks so hopeful and so innocent that it is hard not to forgive him. The morning news has certainly been well covered. He will probably be happy to help with the cleanup, in his own way, which means walking through the pile one more time.
