A Boxer Turned the Couch Into a Snowdrift and Froze in Place
Where the couch used to be, there is a snowdrift of stuffing. White fluff covers the floor, scraps of dark fabric are scattered like leaves, and in the middle sits a fawn Boxer with a dark mask, upright ears, and eyes as wide as saucers. The dog doesn't move a muscle. A lamp, a plant, and a stack of laundry stay respectfully in the background as the room waits for a verdict.
Boxers are muscular, bouncy dogs that stay playful long past puppyhood, and they need a lot of exercise to stay happy. When that energy has no outlet, a couch can become an excellent target. Daily runs, fetch, and training sessions help, and a tough chew toy gives them something better to rip into. Stuffing and fabric can cause serious problems if swallowed, so clean up quickly and watch your dog closely. If your Boxer ate any, or seems sick, call your vet. Long stretches alone can also be hard on a social breed, so keep their routine steady.
The couch will be a project for another day. The Boxer, in the meantime, sits in the middle of the fluff, silent and wide-eyed, as if the stuffing had simply fallen from the sky and landed right in his lap. Someone will be shopping for a sturdy new sofa soon, and the Boxer will inspect it carefully when it arrives.
