The Bed Was Spotless Until a Muddy Ragdoll Walked Across It
Dark muddy paw prints march across the cream-colored bedspread in every direction, with smears and streaks showing where one very busy cat has been. In the middle of it all sits a seal point Ragdoll with wide blue eyes and a dirty chest, her front paws brown with mud. The sun lights up a bedside table and a lamp behind her, and a wicker basket and a folded jacket sit at the foot of the bed. Her look says that she is as surprised as anyone.
Ragdolls have long, silky coats and bright blue eyes, and they are known for being sweet, relaxed cats. That long fur picks up mud, burrs, and dirt very easily, so a brushing session after outdoor time helps prevent mats. If your cat goes outside, wipe her paws on a towel at the door, and check between her toes and her belly for ticks or thorns. Indoor-outdoor cats should be kept up to date with parasite prevention and vaccines, so talk to your vet about what she needs. For a cat who loves the outdoors, a screened porch or a supervised harness walk offers a safer way to explore. A washable bedspread and a paw mat near the door will make life easier.
She seems proud of her walk and eager to share the evidence. We will give her a towel, a brush, and some understanding.
