A Golden Retriever Froze With Spaghetti Hanging From His Mouth

AI imagegolden retrievercaught in the actspaghetti

Strands of spaghetti hang from his jaws like a noodle beard, and his big dark eyes stare at the camera in total surprise. A golden Retriever sits on the wooden floor beside a cracked plate, with more pasta, tomato sauce, and chips of china scattered around him. A stuffed bunny lies nearby, and a basket of laundry and a glass of water sit in the background. The look on his face says he did not plan on company.

Golden Retrievers are friendly, gentle dogs with a famously good appetite and a deep love for their families. They are also strong, athletic, and love to carry things in their mouths, which makes them wonderful retrievers and enthusiastic kitchen helpers. A plate of spaghetti is not unsafe in small amounts, but sauces often include onion and garlic, which are harmful to dogs. Broken china is also a danger, since sharp pieces can cut paws or mouths if swallowed, so keep your dog out of the room until you have cleaned up carefully. Store plates away from the edge of the counter and teach a leave it cue. Talk to your vet if he swallowed sauce with garlic or onion or any piece of the plate.

He holds very still, noodles and all. If ever there was a moment for a dog to look handsome, this is probably not it, but we love it.
