A French Bulldog Climbed Into the Open Dishwasher and Won't Budge
The dishwasher door is down, the lower rack is pulled out, and a brindle French Bulldog sits right on the wire grid looking up with big, worried eyes. His bat ears stand tall, his face is wrinkled, and his chest has the sturdy shape of a dog who has made a decision. On the counter above him, there are lemons, a cutting board, glasses, and a mug, and a window lets in the soft daylight.
French Bulldogs are small, muscular dogs with big personalities and a love of company. They are affectionate and playful, but their short noses make breathing harder, so they can overheat quickly and tire out on hot days. Keep exercise gentle, offer fresh water, and give him a cool place to rest. An open dishwasher can be hazardous for any pet. Sharp knives, forks, and hot water can injure a dog, and detergent residue can be harmful if licked off the dishes or the door, so keep the door shut and detergent locked away. Frenchies are also known for getting stuck or sneaking into small spaces. Check around before you close the door. If he licks detergent or hurts a paw, call your vet.
He looks very confident and a little nervous, which is a rare combination. Somebody needs to coax him down before the next round of dishes.
