A Husky Jumped Into the Sink and Stood Among the Dirty Dishes

The red and white Husky stands right in the kitchen sink, among a clutter of plates, bowls, forks, and glasses streaked with sauce and spaghetti. His icy blue eyes are wide, his ears are tall, and his nose points up toward something he has seen above him. A bright window, a bottle of soap, and a bit of the wooden counter frame him, and the dishes under his paws clink every time he shifts.

Huskies are athletic, curious dogs known for their agility, and it takes very little for them to jump onto a counter or into a sink. Dirty dishes may hold leftover food that is unsafe for dogs, such as onions, grapes, or bones, and broken glass or sharp cutlery can cut paws. If your dog has been into the dishes, check his paws and call your vet if he ate anything unusual. Closing the kitchen door while you are away can keep him safe.

He is standing very still, trying to look as innocent as a dog can in a sink full of plates. The expression on his face is more surprised than guilty, as though the sink were the last place he expected to find himself. Someone will have to wash everything twice, but the dog looks well, and his blue eyes are impossible to resist.
