A Devon Rex Froze Mid-Step With White Frosting on Both Paws
Two white clumps of frosting sit on the front paws of a gray Devon Rex, and she stares straight straight ahead with eyes the size of saucers. Her big ears flare out, her short wavy coat is soft and silvery, and the tiled floor beneath her is dotted with crumbs. A large mixing bowl sits on a counter behind her, and a hint of sunlight crosses the room. She looks as if she has been interrupted in the middle of an important task.
Devon Rex cats are known for being playful, social, and very curious, and they are good climbers who can reach most counters with ease. Their large ears and wavy coats make them stand out, and they tend to love warm spots and human company. Sweet baked goods are not safe for cats. Sugar, butter, and especially chocolate or artificial sweeteners can be harmful, so keep cakes and frosting covered and out of reach. If she has eaten some, call your vet for advice. A clean paw wipe afterward will help prevent sticky paw prints across the house.
She is waiting for someone to speak first, and her expression suggests she has an excellent excuse ready. The cake may be lost, but the story will live on. And those frosting-covered paws are, admittedly, adorable. She will likely demand a second slice as compensation.
