A White Bulldog Wrecked the Garden Bed and Is Looking Anywhere but Down
In a garden bed churned into muddy waves, a white Bulldog sits with a stoic expression, his eyes turned slightly away. Uprooted plants lie across the soil, and a wooden fence stands behind him. His wrinkled face is dusted with dirt, his small pink ears fold back, and his stout body is planted firmly in the middle of the mess. He looks like a dog who is trying very hard to be somewhere else.
Bulldogs are known for their gentle, laid-back personalities and their wrinkly faces. They are not usually big diggers, but any dog can dig out of boredom, to cool off, or for fun. Because Bulldogs have short noses, they can overheat easily, so shaded areas and fresh water are important in summer, and long play sessions in the heat are best avoided. Some garden plants and treatments can be harmful to dogs, so check what is planted and talk to your vet if he nibbles anything unusual. A small sandy digging spot can keep him happy while protecting the flowers.
He sits like a statue, hoping that the soil will settle back by itself. The garden will need replanting, but his sweet wrinkles may buy him a little time. Bulldogs are known for being stubborn, and this one is sticking to his story. He may be wondering if the flowers can grow back by dinnertime.
