A French Bulldog Collected Every Sock in the House and Is Holding Them All
Socks of every color hang from the mouth of a cream French Bulldog, who sits on the floor with his bat ears pulled back and his brown eyes wide. A pink sock, a gray sock, and a striped one are all wrapped together in a damp bundle, and more socks lie scattered behind him near a laundry basket. He has the proud and slightly nervous look of a dog who is not sure whether to run or to sit still.
French Bulldogs are playful, affectionate companions who love to be near their people. They have short noses, which means they can overheat easily and may snore or breathe noisily, so keep exercise gentle and avoid hot weather. Many dogs steal socks because they smell strongly of their owners, and the soft fabric is satisfying to carry. Socks can cause dangerous blockages if swallowed, so keep laundry in a closed hamper and call your vet right away if a dog eats one. Trading a favorite toy for the socks, rather than chasing, helps teach a dog to drop what he has taken.
He is holding his treasure with great care and has no plans to share. The laundry will need sorting again, and the socks will need washing. A dog with a bat-eared face like this can get away with a lot, at least until the next missing sock.
