A Birman Sat Quietly Beside the Spilled Dog Food and Said Nothing
Kibble has spilled from a torn paper bag in a brown wave across the floor, and a seal point Birman sits beside it, looking up with her pale blue eyes. Her cream coat is clean, her dark face is calm, and her fluffy tail curls around her white paws. A couch, a pair of slippers, and a stack of books sit in the background of the living room. She seems very sure that this is not her mess.
Cats and dogs have different nutritional needs, so dog food is not a good regular meal for a cat. Cats need more protein and certain nutrients, such as taurine, that are found in cat food, and a long-term diet of dog food can leave them short on what they need. A small nibble is unlikely to hurt, but talk to your vet if she has eaten a lot or seems unwell. Birmans are gentle, social cats who like to follow their people around. Storing pet food in a sealed container keeps it fresh and keeps curious noses away from the wrong bowl.
She seems to be waiting for someone to explain why the dog's dinner is on the floor. The kibble will need sweeping, and the bag will need a clip. Whoever the culprit is, she is not going to confess. A quick lap around the room suggests she is already thinking about the next adventure.
