A Bengal Jumped Up to the Counter and Left Only Crumbs Behind
A spotted brown Bengal sits upright on the kitchen counter, his gold-green eyes watching something just out of view. Beside him lies a loaf of crusty bread with a large chunk missing, and crumbs dot the surface. His coat is covered in rich rosettes, his ears are alert, and his long tail curls around his paws. A sink, a mug, and a few utensils sit behind him. He is wearing a very guilty face.
Bengals are energetic, athletic cats known for their wild-looking coats. They are intelligent and curious, and they love to climb, jump, and explore, so a counter is hardly a barrier. They need a lot of play and mental stimulation, and a bored Bengal may find his own entertainment. Bread is not toxic in a small amount, but it is not good for cats, and raw dough can be dangerous because it expands in the stomach, so call your vet if he ate some. Providing tall cat trees, puzzle feeders, and daily play can keep him busy and away from the bread.
He seems to know he was caught and is trying to hold on to his dignity. The bread will not be missed that much, but the guilty face will. A Bengal on a counter is a common sight, but a Bengal with bread is a story.
