The Ragdoll Wanted to Join Game Night in a Very Big Way

AI imageragdollboard gameliving room

The game night is over, though nobody has told the Ragdoll. He lies stretched across the floor, wide blue eyes fixed on the camera, a paw resting on a spill of colorful wooden pieces, hexagon tiles, and clear counters. His fluffy cream coat looks a little tousled, with a few loose strands floating off his chest.

The whole scene is frozen, like a photograph taken one second after something dramatic. Behind him, a gray sofa, a leafy plant in a woven basket, and a stray slipper suggest a cozy evening that has been interrupted by a very large paw.

Ragdolls are often described as big, easygoing cats that go limp when picked up, which is how they got their name. They tend to be sociable and enjoy being near their people, so a board game on the floor is basically an invitation. Small pieces can be a hazard, though, because cats sometimes bat, chew, or swallow them. If your cat likes game night, play at a table, keep pieces in a closed box afterward, and count to make sure none have gone missing. A cat who swallows something that does not belong should be seen by a vet. Offering a few cat-safe toys can keep paws busy while you play.

The Ragdoll looks blissfully unaware of any rules. With eyes that round, he will probably win the next round anyway.
