A Ragdoll Turns the Morning Mail Into Confetti

AI imageragdolltorn mailliving room

Paper is everywhere, and the Ragdoll in the middle of it looks like she just woke up in a snowstorm. Her blue eyes are wide, her pink nose and chocolate mask give her a startled look, and her fluffy cream chest and striped tail are surrounded by torn envelopes, letters, and scraps that cover the floor like drifts.

A gray blanket is bunched up in the lower corner, a pair of socks and a tote bag sit nearby, and a houseplant leans toward the window. Everything about the room says it was an ordinary morning right until the mail arrived.

Cats are drawn to paper because it is crinkly, light, and fun to bat. The mail slot, the doormat, and the stack on the table can all become targets. Ragdolls in particular are playful and sociable, and they love being part of your day, even the part where you sort the bills. A basket or a closed box for incoming mail is an easy fix, and a scratching pad or a crinkly cat toy can give her a better outlet. Keep any important papers, and anything with staples or clips, out of reach, because swallowed paper can cause problems and you should call your vet if your cat starts eating it.

She is sitting very still and very neatly, as if she has been waiting patiently for her reply. The mail has been sorted, in a manner of speaking.
