A Giant Bernese Mountain Dog Is Stuck Inside a Cereal Box
He is much too big for the box, but the Bernese Mountain Dog has squeezed himself inside anyway. His black, white, and rust coat fills the cardboard, his ears are pulled back, and his warm brown eyes look up with a sheepish and slightly hopeful expression. The box has been cut down at the sides, and its flaps flop open around his head like the petals of a very large cardboard flower.
Behind him, a bright room with a gray blanket on a chair and a cream couch provides a soft backdrop. The cardboard edges curve around his shoulders like a tiny house. A cream rug lies under the box, and the whole scene feels quiet and a little silly in the best way.
Bernese Mountain Dogs are known for their calm, kind temperaments and their love of being close to family. They are big dogs with thick coats, and they can be a little clumsy as they grow. Many dogs like to squeeze into boxes, because enclosed spaces feel cozy and safe. A cardboard box is a harmless place to sit, as long as he does not chew and swallow pieces, so supervise him. Giant breeds have special needs, including joint care and healthy weight, so talk to your vet about diet and exercise. Provide a large, comfortable bed so that he has a place to relax.
He seems unsure whether to stay or climb out, but he does look comfortable. Big dogs make everything look small.
