Game Night Was Canceled. The Chihuahua Had Already Changed the Rules.
Colorful wooden pieces lie scattered across the beige rug, blue stars, green stars, orange blocks and purple discs, and a small cream Chihuahua is sitting among them with a tiny smirk. Her large dark eyes glance sideways, her ears are tipped out and a hint of pink tongue shows between her lips. Morning light falls over a gray couch in the background, and a jacket hangs over the arm. We'll call her Peaches, and she has the look of someone who just won the game.
Chihuahuas are the smallest dog breed, and they are famous for having a huge personality packed into a tiny body. They are alert, loyal and sometimes a bit bossy, and many bond tightly with one person. Despite their size, they need regular exercise and training like any other dog, and small dogs can also pick up bad habits if they are not given limits. Small game pieces are a choking and swallowing hazard for pets, so keep board games on a high shelf and count the pieces after play. If your dog swallows something small, call your vet right away.
Peaches seems to think the game just got a lot more interesting. She sits proudly in the middle of the board, claiming the rug as her territory. The family will need to do some careful sorting later, but for now her smirk is the best part of the picture.
