A Fluffy Empress Wears Fur and Gold and Rules Quietly
Soft as a cloud and twice as calm, the empress receives her subjects. A blue point Ragdoll with a pale, fluffy chest and a face shaded in cool grey looks out with round sky-blue eyes. A little gold crown with a blue jewel perches between her ears. Around her shoulders lies a thick collar of white fur with black flecks, and below it a robe of gold brocade and deep blue velvet fills the lower half of the canvas.
The painter let the ruffled fur at her neck blend into the ermine, so it is hard to tell where cat ends and cape begins. That blurry softness against the dark, cracked background makes her look wonderfully huggable, despite the grand costume.
Ragdolls are known for their relaxed, affectionate nature, and the breed name comes from the way many of them go soft and floppy when picked up. They tend to follow their people around the house and enjoy gentle play, though they are not all the same, so let each cat show you how she likes to be held. Their semi-long coat is silky and usually mats less than some other long coats, but it still benefits from regular brushing. Because of their trusting temperament, Ragdolls are usually best kept indoors, and your vet can suggest the right checkups and diet.
An empress this peaceful probably rules by purring alone. All decrees will be issued from the softest cushion in the palace.
