A Tiny White Admiral Takes Command of the Whole Navy
A very small admiral has taken command of a very big navy. The white Maltese has a silky, snowy coat, a tiny black nose and two dark, shiny eyes, and her long ears fall softly beside her face. She wears a deep navy coat with golden buttons and a high collar edged in gold embroidery, and large fringed gold epaulettes sit on each shoulder. Behind her, pale pink flowers, drapery and golden scrolls make a gentle pastel setting.
The navy coat is wonderfully dramatic against her white fur, and the painter has captured the silky texture of her coat beautifully. Her expression is sweet but determined, like a captain who knows the ship is in good hands.
Maltese dogs are small, gentle companions that have been loved for many centuries. They are usually playful, affectionate and eager to be close to their people. Their long white coat is silky and needs regular brushing to prevent tangles, and many owners keep it trimmed for easier care. Tear stains can build up around the eyes, so gentle cleaning as your vet advises helps. Because they are small, they need careful handling and good dental care, and a harness is often easier on their necks than a collar.
The fleet is in order, the sea is calm and the admiral would like to retire to a soft cushion immediately.
