The Baron Is Running Late and His Frenchie Face Shows It
Time is clearly very important to this brindle French Bulldog baron. He holds an open gold pocket watch in one lace-cuffed paw, and he is staring straight out of the painting with a serious, slightly worried frown. His dark brindle face is striped like tiger fur, with big upright ears and a wide, flat muzzle. His navy velvet coat is embroidered in thick gold leaves and fastened with gold buttons, and a cascade of white lace frills spills from his collar.
French Bulldogs are well known for their charm and their love of company. They tend to be social, playful and attached to their families, but they are not the best athletes. Their short muzzles mean they can overheat and tire quickly, so a good daily routine is a couple of short, relaxed walks rather than a long run, and it is smart to avoid midday heat. Many Frenchies also do best with a harness instead of a collar pulling on the neck. Your vet can tell you what weight and exercise plan suits your dog best.
Perhaps the baron is late for supper, or perhaps he is timing exactly how long until his snack arrives. Either way, he treats the schedule with great seriousness. There is something very endearing about a face so grumpy and so loyal at once, and the lace makes it all the better.
