The Frenchie General Sat Very Straight and Waited for His Army

AI imagefrench bulldoggeneralmedals

Gold epaulettes with heavy fringe rest on the shoulders of the French Bulldog general, and a bright red sash trimmed with gold crosses his chest, over rows of medals and a high gold collar. His cream face is wrinkled and dignified, with big upright bat ears and dark, round eyes that look slightly to the side. Behind him is a teal-green damask wall and a deep pink curtain, with a hint of light from a window. The general sits very straight, as if the entire army were behind him.

French Bulldogs are small, sturdy and affectionate companions, with big ears and short, flat faces. That flat face means they can have trouble breathing, especially in heat, during exercise or when excited, so short walks in cool weather, plenty of shade and fresh water are important. Many Frenchies snore, snort and wheeze a little, but labored breathing or collapse is an emergency, and a vet should check any concerns. They tend to do well in apartments, and most prefer company to being left alone. A harness is often better than a collar, and keeping them at a healthy weight helps their breathing and joints. They are charming clowns who often form close bonds with their people.

The army is in order, the medals are polished and the general is ready for a very long nap on the cushion.
