The Ambassador Carried a Sealed Scroll and Wouldn't Let Go of It
A scroll sealed with a round red wax stamp rests under the paws of a gray-bearded Miniature Schnauzer in an ermine-lined cape. His coat is deep blue velvet embroidered with gold leaves, a gold star ornament is pinned to his chest, and lace ruffles poke out at his cuffs and neck. Behind him a stone column rises into darkness and a candle burns at the left edge. He looks every bit the diplomat who has carried an important message across many borders.
The ermine on his cape is painted with creamy white dabs and tiny black flecks, which was the standard way to show royal fur. The wax seal is the only bright red in the painting, so your eye lands on it first and then travels up to his serious face.
Miniature Schnauzers are small, intelligent dogs with wiry coats, expressive eyebrows, and a lot of loyalty. They are generally alert and sociable, but they can bark more than some breeds, so early training and plenty of exercise help. Their coats need brushing and regular trims, and the beard may need wiping after meals. Because the breed can gain weight easily, careful portions and daily walks matter. A chat with your vet can help set up a feeding plan and cover health checkups.
Whatever message is inside, he will not let it out of his paws until the right person is standing in front of him.
