A Fluffy Sheepskin Rug Became the Coziest Dorm Room in the House
A cream sheepskin rug on the living room floor has become the coziest dormitory in the house. Three black and tan Dachshund puppies lie side by side across its fluffy curls, completely out cold. Their glossy black coats are set off by tan eyebrow dots, muzzles, and paws, and their long ears drape softly across the wool. One pup has its chin resting on its paw, while the others have simply melted where they landed. A coffee table with a mug, a pair of glasses, and a scattering of chew toys sits nearby.
Black and tan is one of the most recognizable Dachshund color combinations. Smooth-coated Dachshunds like these have short, shiny fur that's easy to care for, usually needing just a weekly rub with a soft brush or grooming mitt. They do get chilly more easily than thick-coated breeds, which might explain why these three gravitated straight to the warmest rug in the room. In cooler weather, many smooth Dachshunds appreciate a cozy bed with a blanket to burrow into, and some even enjoy a snug sweater for outdoor walks. Keep electrical cords tucked away from napping areas, since puppies sometimes chew on anything within reach.
When these three wake up, the room will probably be full of zoomies again. For now, it's quiet, warm, and wonderfully peaceful, which is exactly how nap time should be.
