This Puppy Was Gone From the Playroom. The Towel Pile Gave Him Away.
Fresh towels, still soft from the dryer, have become the perfect mattress for a chocolate Dachshund puppy. He is sound asleep with his chin resting on a fluffy fold, ears draped to one side and eyes shut tight. A tiny patch of tan shows over his eyebrow, and a few more pieces of laundry and a plant are visible in the blurry room behind him.
Dogs are drawn to warm, soft textures, and a pile of towels offers both. Puppies in particular need plenty of undisturbed rest, since they spend much of the day asleep and wake up ready to explore. A comfortable, quiet corner away from foot traffic helps a young dog settle, and many puppies sleep best when something smells like their family. If you want to give a puppy a good resting spot, choose a washable bed or blanket, keep it free of dangling cords or strings, and make sure the room is not too hot or too cold. Dachshunds like to burrow, so a blanket they can tuck under is often a hit. If your puppy snores, twitches or runs in his sleep, that is completely normal dream activity.
This pup looks like he has retired for the day. Whatever adventure comes next can wait until the towels have been fully tested for comfort, and the verdict looks excellent.
