Two Dachshund Puppies Sat Perfectly Still Among the Daisies at Dusk
Daisies dot the lawn, a porch lamp glows in the distance, and two black and tan Dachshund puppies sit side by side like a matching pair. Their glossy black coats are marked with rich tan on the brows, chest and paws, and their ears hang in long, silky curtains. One looks straight ahead with a calm gaze while the other glances thoughtfully toward the camera.
Evening is a fine time for a puppy to explore the yard, but the garden hides a few hazards. Many flowers, bulbs and shrubs are toxic to dogs, and daisies in large amounts can upset a stomach. If your puppy likes to nibble plants, supervise and learn which ones are unsafe. Lawn chemicals and snail bait are another common danger, so check what has been used before letting a dog out. Dachshunds are curious by nature and tend to follow their noses, so a secure fence is a must. Twilight can also bring mosquitoes and ticks, so ask your vet about parasite prevention. A short walk and a gentle play session make a good way to wind down the day.
These two look perfectly content to sit still in the evening air. Daisies at their paws and a lamp in the distance make for a picture-book ending to the day. Soon it will be bedtime, and two sleepy pups will be carried inside to dream about grass and flowers.
