Three Bernese Puppies Fell Asleep in One Fluffy Heap
Three Bernese Mountain Dog puppies have curled up together on a cream shaggy rug, a soft bundle of black, white, and rust. Their eyes are closed, noses nestled into the fluff, and one little white paw stretches toward the front. Beyond the rug, a gray blanket and a bit of floor show in the room behind.
Young puppies sleep a great deal, often most of the day, and they do it in short, deep stretches. Rest is when growth happens, so a quiet, comfortable sleeping place is important. Many puppies like to snuggle up with littermates for warmth and comfort. If you bring one home, provide a bed that is snug and soft, away from drafts and loud noises.
Bernese puppies are especially fluffy, and that thick coat will keep growing. Brushing a few times a week keeps mats away and helps spread natural oils. Introducing the brush gently, with praise and treats, makes grooming something to look forward to. Bernese Mountain Dogs are heavy shedders in some seasons, so brushing also helps keep the house tidy.
The trio looks content to let the afternoon drift by. A warm rug, a good friend on either side, and nowhere to be is a dream worth having. Nothing disturbs the quiet except the soft rise and fall of three small chests, and that is exactly how a nap should look.
