Three Saint Bernard Puppies Stepped Into a Row of Rain Boots
Three Saint Bernard puppies have each tucked their front paws into a rain boot and lined up like a small chorus. The one on the left wears black boots, the middle pup a green pair, and the one on the right a yellow pair. Their red-brown ears and white faces point toward the camera with soft, curious expressions. A lamp glows in a cozy room behind.
Saint Bernards come from the Swiss Alps, where rain, snow, and mud are everyday weather. The thick, dense coat that suits them there is why many Saint Bernards prefer cooler weather and can overheat easily in the summer. They come in short-haired and long-haired varieties, and both need regular brushing to manage shedding.
Rain boots can look inviting to a puppy, but they are best used for posing, not chewing. Rubber can be swallowed in pieces and cause a blockage, so keep puppies from nibbling them, and offer chew toys made for dogs instead. If your puppy swallows something it shouldn't, call your vet right away.
With a puppy standing in each boot, this is the cutest line of footwear anyone has seen. It looks as though they are ready for a very small, very muddy parade. If the boots get any use, it will probably be on the day these three discover their very first puddle.
