Two Puppies Sat Down in the Daisies and Posed Like Pros

The daisies came out, and so did these two. A pair of cream-colored puppies sit on a lawn scattered with white blooms, one angled toward us with a curious, slightly tilted look and the other turned a little away, gazing at something just out of frame. Their fur is fluffy and light, their puppy paws are oversized, and in the soft background there is a wooden fence and a bit of greenery.

A flowery lawn is lovely to look at, but it takes a bit of care with puppies. Daisies themselves are generally not a serious concern, but many other garden plants and bulbs are poisonous to dogs, and so are lawn treatments and some fertilizers. If you share a yard with a curious puppy, learn which plants grow in it and keep chemicals out of reach. If your pup eats something suspicious, your vet is the best person to call.

Young Golden Retrievers are famously friendly and curious, which makes them great explorers. They also tend to put everything in their mouths, so a calm walk around the yard, with treats and gentle redirection, is a good way to teach them what is allowed.

These two look as if they are trying to behave for a family portrait, sitting up straight in the grass. The daisies are doing their best to help, but the puppies are the real bloom.
