Three Fluffy Puppies Found One Slipper and Started Pulling

AI imagemaltesepuppiesslipper

Little white powderpuffs have found a slipper, and a tug-of-war is in full swing. Three Maltese puppies crowd around the soft tan shoe, one gripping the heel with scrunched eyes, another resting a paw on top, and the third leaning in with a pink nose pressed to the sole. Their silky topknots stick up in all directions. A wicker basket of blankets waits behind them near a wooden doorframe, and the carpet looks wonderfully worn.

Maltese puppies are tiny, and their needle-sharp teeth are surprisingly busy. Chewing is a normal way to soothe sore gums during teething, and slippers smell wonderfully like family. The trick is to offer better choices: soft rubber toys sized for small mouths, plush chew toys, and plenty of praise when they pick the right one. Keep shoes out of reach, because swallowed bits of fabric or sole can be dangerous. If a puppy swallows part of a slipper, call your vet right away.

Because Maltese are a small breed, even gentle play should be supervised, especially around larger pets or small children. A pup this size can be hurt by a rough squeeze or a tumble from the couch. Calm, kind handling helps them grow into the affectionate lap dogs the breed is known to be.

Whoever owns this slipper may never see it whole again. Three tiny thieves are very happy with their catch.
