Three Weimaraner Puppies Sat Among the Tulips Looking Very Proud
Three silver-gray puppies sit in a spring flower bed, looking like little gray tulips themselves. The one in the middle gazes straight at us with a sweet, serious stare while the others peek toward the blooms on either side. Pink, coral and red tulips surround them, with fresh green leaves brushing their ears. A scattered garden pot, an old hose and a weathered wall stand in the background, giving the pretty scene a charmingly lived-in feel.
Spring gardens are beautiful, but tulips are a known danger for dogs. The bulbs in particular can cause drooling, stomach upset and other problems if chewed or eaten, and several other popular spring plants are also harmful to pets. If you share a garden with a puppy, check which plants are safe and keep bulbs and fertilizer out of reach. Weimaraners like to dig and chew, so supervising garden time is wise. If your puppy swallows any part of a plant you are unsure about, call your vet or a pet poison hotline right away.
Tonight these three will likely be dreaming about flowers. In the meantime, they make for the best bouquet in the yard.
The garden will recover from a visit like this, though it will never quite forget it. Three small gray faces in a sea of pink is the kind of picture spring was invented for.
