Two Weimaraner Puppies Went Pumpkin Hunting in the Autumn Garden

AI imageweimaranerpuppiespumpkin patch

Two silver-gray puppies sit between orange pumpkins at the edge of a backyard patch, studying the harvest with great concentration. One looks off to the side as though something rustled in the vines, while the other watches over a pumpkin like a tiny guard. Curly stems, dry leaves and trailing green vines wind around their paws, and the late-day sun gives their gray coats a warm glow. It is peak autumn, and they are right in the middle of it.

Plain pumpkin is a safe, fiber-rich treat for most dogs in small amounts, and many people add a spoonful of the plain cooked kind to meals. Raw stems, rotting pumpkins and moldy ones are another matter, so keep puppies away from damaged fruit. Carved jack-o-lanterns with candles are a fire risk too. Autumn yards can also hide fallen fruit and mushrooms that are unsafe to chew, so supervise and steer puppies back to their toys. Check with your vet about how much pumpkin is right for your dog.

The pumpkins will make good pies and good decorations, but these two are plainly the real stars of the patch.

Autumn light makes everything look golden, including two curious puppies on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin. They may not choose one, but they are clearly enjoying the search, and the patch has never looked so welcoming.
