A Weimaraner Puppy Found the Softest Spot in the House: The Laundry

AI imageweimaranerpuppytowels

The laundry pile has been promoted to a bed. A silver-gray puppy lies right on top of a heap of cream and white towels, head heavy against the fabric, eyes tightly closed and ears draped over the soft folds. Her whole body has melted into the stack. Around her, the room is a happy jumble of clothes, a basket, a vase of dried flowers and sunlight on the floor. She does not seem to mind that the towels were meant for someone else.

Puppies love to nest in soft piles, and a stack of freshly washed towels is hard to resist. It is a good clue about what comfort your puppy prefers: softness, warmth and the scent of home. If your puppy is picking laundry over its bed, try adding a soft blanket, moving the bed to a quiet corner or putting a worn shirt in it. Weimaraners tend to bond closely with their families, so beds near people are popular. Keep an eye on chewing, and wash bedding often.

Someone will eventually need clean towels, but not just yet. The sleeper has the final say.

Fresh towels have a particular smell that puppies seem to adore, and this one clearly approves. The room around her may be messy, but her little corner is the picture of calm, and she is the only one in the house getting a perfect rest.
